About Us

Diana Beam Most great ideas begin at home…..with a defined need and a heart-felt desire to meet that need. Keeping In Touch Solutions is no exception.

It started with family members. I’m sure you know how difficult it is to watch those you love loose their independence and struggle to maintain their independent spirit. None of us grow up wishing to be old or to live in a“ nursing home” for our “golden years”. It usually starts with Grandparents, maybe a favorite “Uncle Charlie or “ Aunt Louise” . Health issues and living alone becomes a family concern.

In past generations, daughters were usually delegated to drop in every day and keep up the cooking, cleaning and taking care of the elderly loved one. Often the daughter would take her lunch break at school or work to slip by the house to be sure everything was ok… maybe start laundry or dinner.

As daughters, we worried how stressed our Mom’s became trying to “do it all” After all, isn’t that what we do as Mom’s and daughters….we try to “fix” everything and make everything ok?

But what if you lived miles away and can’t be there every day or even every week? As a former health care administrator and daughter, I could sympathize with all. Most elderly parents would say,

“ I just don’t want to be a burden to my children”, but they were so happy when their children came to visit. Another comment “I just wish they would call me once in a while”. It is a difficult situation for everyone. And that is the reason Keeping IN Touch Solutions started.

As a Daughter, there weren’t enough hours in the day! You’ve pulled between children’s school schedules, work related activities plus keeping up with the laundry and getting meals on the table.

Sometimes when you call you’re so rushed and stressed out you wonder about the importance of the call.~ but you need that re assurance that Your elderly love one is safe. But, if you forget to call You feel even more guilty.

Keeping In Touch Solutions was created to make that call on your behalf every day to check in and to be sure everything is going ok. For many of the homebound, this is the only call they will receive all day. Many of our “care callers” (ladies making the calls) are retired ~ they have been trained to help the homebound and share their positive view of the day.

How can you set a price on piece of mind when it is your Mother?

For me it is PRICELESS……

P.S. Yes, I have walked in those shoes first as a Granddaughter, then as a Daughter and Mom and now as a Grandma. From being an early childhood teacher to working with the elderly in Long Term Care Administration and Home Health Care…to helping elderly family members with aging problems and transition issues, and eventually creating SmoothMovesForSeniors.com

P.S.S. Diana and her loving and patient husband Ron have been married for many years. They have three beautiful grown children and two wonderful, adored grandsons. Hope an overweight Golden Retriever and Ms Dottie a very independent Calico cat
